    Possibilities of biological control of stored food mites

  • Original language description

    Control measures based on the natural relationship between a predator and its prey are "biological methods". Biological control of stored product mites is the only control method so far widely used in grain stores. It can be used as a preventive measurein empty stores and to prevent or repress mites populations on grain or seed. The predator used was Cheyletus eruditus, which feeds mainly on Acarus sirom Tyrophagus putrescentiae and Lepidoglyphus destructor.
