In the ring test of winter wheat cultivars for partial resistance to powdery mildew in 1998 fifty four cultivars and in 1999 fifty six cultivars were tested. The occurrence of the disease was higher in 1998 than in 1999. Twentytwo cultivars in both yearswere placed in the same cluster. Twenty three cultivars in 1999 were put in individual clusters with lower disease severitywhereas in 1998 these cultivars moved to the nearst cluster with higher disease severity. The most increase of the disease was inthe period from thefirst sampling date to the second ones.
