Effects of different mating principles on allelic frequencies in small laboratory mouse populations
Original language description
An experiment with laboratory mice was carried out to test the chANGes of the allele distribution patterns in small populations which were developed by different mating principles for 15 generations. The following variants were included: RM random mating, two assortative mating plans with high (NAM) or low (PAM) body weight divergence and two programs which provide a mating plan for minimal rate of inbreeding (MRI) and for maintenance of distribution of the base population phenotypes (BPC). The highestdifferentiation in allele frequencies compared to the start level was obtained with positive assortative mating and in variant BPC. While in MRI and BPC the observed heterozygosity for the detected loci did not chANGe significantly between initial leveland the end stage, in the remaining variants the heterozygosity decreased with different levels.
