Comparison between different ways of assessment of breedeing value in population of White Shorthaired Goats in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The White Shorthaired Goats are kept in the Czech Republic in the purebred stage as the genetic resource. Database included 6024 records (1993-1998) of milk production during the 300-days lactation (x=653 kg, s.d. = 218 kg) and percentages of milk fat (x= 3.59 %, s.d. = 0.62 %) and proteins (x = 2.76 %, s.d. = 0.26 %) in milk. Four variants of evaluation of breeding value were compared: 1: Average production, 2. Production on maximum lactation, 3. Least square means, 4. Breeding values computed by Animal Model (BV).
