Infrared thermography as a tool to study the milking process: a review

Original language description

This review presents infrared thermography (IRT) as a tool studying and evaluating the milking process. IRT is a noninvasive and non-contact heat-detecting technology, an infrared camera measures and images the infrared radiation emitted from an object.A specially analysing software program evaluates the thermal images (thermograms). Although IRT is applied less frequently to the study of the milking process, present results show the potential of this measuring method. Generally, IRT is a suitable toolfor early detection and screening of mastitis, and can be useful for studying and evaluating the effects of different milking technique on teats and udders. Important information can be produced where the possibilities diagnostic techniques have been exhausted.

Infračervená termografie jako nástroj zkoumání procesu dojení

Czech description

Tento přehled představuje infračervenou termografii (IRT) jako prostředek ke studiu a hodnocení procesu dojení. IRT je neinvazivní a bezkontaktní technika měření teploty. Infračervená kamera měří a zobrazuje infračervené záření vysílané objektem. Speciální analytický softwarový program hodnotí zobrazení teplot (termogramy). Ačkoliv je IRT ve studiu procesu dojení používána méně často, předkládané výsledky ukazují možnosti této měřicí metody. Obecně lze říci, že IRT je vhodným prostředkem pro ranou detekci a kontrolu mastitid a je užitečná pro studium a hodnocení vlivů různých dojicích technik na struky a vemena. Může poskytovat důležité informace v případě, že jsou možnosti diagnostických technik vyčerpány.
