The system of evaluation of the thermal comfort of dairy sheep lambs

  • Original language description

The aim of the study was to analyze selected parameters of the thermal comfort in breeding environment during winter housing of milking sheep in relation to the survival of lambs. The survival of lambs in the first day after birth was significantly influenced by the breed, litter size, sex, air temperature fluctuation and relative humidity of the air. The direct negative effect of microclimatic condition on the survival of lambs was difficult to quantify, but, apparently, the daily fluctuation of the temperature and relative humidity of air in the living zone of lambs were the key factors.
