Original language description
This part of the program package ECOWEIGHT contains two programs for the calculation of economic weights for beef (EWBC) and dairy (EWDC) cattle. In comparison with the 4th version published in 2008, in the 5th version considerable changes and improvements, documented in the Manual in Appendix B5 to B7 for beef cattle and C7 to C8 for dairy cattle, have been made especially in the program for dairy cattle. Besides of a basic revision of both programs and the manual, the main news in this version are theaddition of two traits connected with milk coagulation properties (rennet coagulation time, curd firmness) in the program for dairy cattle and two further reproductive traits (interval between 1st mating and calving for heifers and calving interval forcows) in both programs for beef and dairy cattle and the calculation of relative economic weights also in both programs.
