The effect of ACTH on the GnRH-induced release of LH and testosterone in male white-tailed deer
Original language description
The aim of this study was to investigate the possible link between stress and the impairment of the reproductive system. The pronounced suppression of reproductive hormones by ACTH or cortisol reported previously in domestic ungulates does not occur in white-tailed deer yearlings. The low level of energy provided in food to mothers during their pregnancies significantly reduced peak levels of testosterone in their male offspring.
