The water consumption from 6 differently solved and situated drinking troughs within the period of 2005 - 2007 was investigated in the group of 78 dairy cows mostly of the red - spotted breed with average milk yield of 17, 5 litres per day. It was foundthat from the trough situated in the centre of the double-row boxes the dairy cows have received under the same conditions by 85 - 150 % more water compared with the trough situated at the end of the box row. The water consumption was slightly affected by the drinking trough technical design. The best results were achieved at the cows drinking from the semicircular drinking trough, was 39,7% on total water consumption for drinking. The research with continue in 2007 - 2008.

Ve skupině 78 dojnic převážně červenostrakatého plemene s průměrnou užitkovostí 17,5 kg/den byla sledována spotřeba vody ze 6 různě řešených a situovaných napájecích žlabů v období 2005 - 2007. Bylo zjištěno, že ze žlabu umístěného ve středu dvouřady boxových loží přijaly dojnice za jinak stejných podmínek o 85 ? 150 % více vody než ze žlabu umístěného na konci řady boxových stání. Spotřebu vody pro napájení v menší míře ovlivnilo technické řešení napájecího žlabu, přičemž nejlepší výsledky byly dosaženy při napájení dojnic z půlkruhového napájecího žlabu., spotřeba byla 39,7% z celkové spotřeby vody pro napájení. Sledování budou pokračovat v roce 2007 ? 2008.
