Original language description
The subject of the research was to find out mechanical and fuel-energy properties of solid alternative fuel (SAP) adapted in form of standardized fuel using biomass admixture which could improve the basic material characteristics. The solid alternative fuel is a compact fuel produced from other than hazardous waste specified for energy utilization and application in combustion plants or facilities for co-combustion and being in accordance with requirements for classification and specification as given in CEN/TS 15359. The alternative fuel production is advantageous from many aspects as compared with combustion of solely blended municipal waste. The solid alternative fuel advantage is possibility of long-time storage. Amount of CO in combustion productsis considerably reduced by addition of 50 % biological material into the pressing blend, e.g. poplar wood, bark or fermented wood chips.
