Fuel consumption and mixing wagon characteristics
Original language description
In Czech Republic the dominant mechanization for total mixed ration (TMR) preparation and application in cattle breeding represent the mixing feeding wagons. This mechanization is being prepared feedstuff for more than 80% dairy cows. In total 8 variousmixing feeding wagons were investigated under identical conditions during preparation of TMR application for three different cattle categories. Investigated was uniformity of feedstuff application in through, homogeneity of applied feeding portion, performance in feedstuff separation and loading, mixing and application in trough, fuel consumption and input needed. The least uniformed was portion with high share of hay (standard deviation average value 49,9 %). Better results have reached the mixing feeding wagons equipped with horizontal mixing augers (standard deviation average value 33,7 %). Mixing feeding wagons with vertical augers applied feedstuff in trough at average standard deviation of 61,3 %.
