Original language description
Purpose: to relate the outcomes of an analysis of the new MSc. field of study at the State Agrarian University of Moldova (SAUM) and consequent proposal and construction of a solar-powered Biomass Dryer as an integral part of the of the Bio-energy Lab. This represented a major part of an educational development project, which aimed at formulation of New MSc. Study Programmes. Findings: the Biomass Dryer was designed and built strictly for educational and research purposes. It was intended to be used forthe storage and drying of the biomass, whereby alternative drying processes were planned. The drying is possible by fresh air, by air conditioned in the heat exchanger, by boiler-heated water with the boiler using bio-fuel, and by air conditioned in thesolar collector. Practical implications: the Biomass Dryer is of a unique design which can be easily modified to make the drying process of the biomass possible in different locations.
