Land Consolidation as an Opportunity for Soil and Water Conservation in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The process of land consolidation has provided large spaces for implementation of erosion control measures in the Czech Republic. The measures are designed according to the valid national methodology which is based on recent scientific knowledge in the field of erosion and soil conservation. Although the land consolidation process does not advance as quickly as required, it brings positive results. Measures are based on the cadastre, which is a public register showing details of ownership of a property in a district, including boundaries and tax assessments. One or more erosion and flood control facilities are built in 15 % of cadastres with completed complex land consolidation programmes. This paper presents an example of the implementation of integrated land consolidation and soil conservation measures.
