The paper addresses problems with damage of hawthorn caused by quarantine bacterium Erwinia amylovora and its possible solution based on utilizing hawthorn?s natural resistance to this pathogen. Method how to obtain and select hawthorn clones with resistant behaviour to fire blight using plant tissue cultures and laboratory tests was developed. It consists of donor plants selection followed by micropropagation in vitro and production of ex vitro cloned progeny; testing resistance of young cloned plantsin laboratory conditions and then planting them at selected localities to assess their field resistance to E. amylovora and other biological characteristics.

Příspěvek se zabývá problémem poškození hlohů karanténní bakterií Erwinia amylovora a možným řešením tohoto problému s využitím přirozené rezistence hlohů k tomuto patogenu. Byl vyvinut postup výběru, tvorby a ověřování klonů s rezistentním chováním k bakterii Erwinia amylovora. Způsob zahrnuje postupy pro výběr donorových rostlin, odvození primokultury in vitro, mikropropagaci in vitro, převedení regenerantů do ex vitro, pěstování mladých rostlin in vivo, laboratorní testy rezistence k EA, výsadbu mladých klonových rostlin in situ, ověření biologických vlastností a hodnocení polní rezistence, uchovávání matečných klonů v podmínkách in vitro v genobance VÚKOZ, v.v.i.
