Silicon concentrations were determined in twelve plant reference materials. Plant materials were digested in three types of digestion blends (HNO3+H2O2, HNO3+H2O2+HF+H3BO3 a v HNO3+H2O2+HBF4) in parallel. Concentrations of 36 elements were determined andcompared with the reference values. Optimal digestion procedure is recommended for plant materials with Si concentrations below and above 2 mg/g.
