Original language description
Concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, V and Zn were determined in moss collected on lightly industrialized territory of Lithuania and on the highly industrialized territory of the Czech Republic in 1995, 2000 and 2005. The distribution ofthe concentration logarithms allowed to estimate background concentrations of the heavy metals and contribution of local anthropogenic sources of pollution on the total concentration of the investigated metals in moss at the individual localities. The average concentrations of the background concentrations of the most metals were very similar in the both countries and they had a decreasing tendency between 1995 and 2005.
