    Distribution of 137Cs in Forest Components of Selected Areas in the Czech Republic

  • Original language description

    Mitigation process of 137Cs in forest soil was investigated by measuring of the caesium activity concentration with depth. Soil profiles in three coniferous forests across the Czech Republic were studied. Apparent half-life of137Cs in humus horizon was estimated to be 20.2 years, which indicates the origin deposition loads about 3.9 kBq.kg-1. Similar estimation (4.3 kBq.kg-1) was derived from the apparent burial rates of 137Cs in the investigated humus layers.
