Experimental infection with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in piglets with different levels of antigen-specific immunity. First Clinical, pathological and cytological findings.
Original language description
The effects of two significant aspects of piglet rearing on the course of experimental infection with A.pleuropneumoniae were investigated: the presence of colostrum-derived antibodies and preceding weak infection. Monitoring of the course of infection was based on clinical, radiographic, hematological and pathological examinations. Moreover, samples of blood and lavages were taken for cytological and flow cytometry analyses. The obtained results confirmed the significance of specific colostral antibodies in protection against experimental infection with A.pleuropneumoniae. Similarly, the preventative effect of natural infection was confirmed.
