Experimental infection with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in piglets with different levels of antigen-specific immunity. Systemic and local antibody responses.
Original language description
The effects of two different immune states on the development of systemic and local antibody responses in piglets experimentally infected with A.pleuropneumoniae were studied. The IgM, IgG and IgA antibody responses against App9 antigen (LPS) were identified by ELISA in samples of blood and in nasal and bronchoalveolar lavage fluids (BALF). Systemic response in groups without preceding weak infection had the features of primary immune response with marked IgM production, whilst in piglets with precedingweak infection marked IgG production was recorded. IgA antibodies were detected in BALF.
