Prevalence of Lawsonia intracellularis among wild boar (Sus scrofa) and fallow deer (Dama dama) bred in one game reserve was investigated using the nested PCR method. In the study, 88 clinically healthy wild boar of different age categories and 2 fallowdeer bagged in the game reserve were examined. L. intracellularis was demonstrated in the mucous membrane of the intestine of 8 (9.1%) wild boar and one fallow deer. Of the 9 wild boar whose tissues of corresponding lymph nodes were examined in additionto the mucous membrane of the ileum, one tested positive for the microorganism. A relationship between the occurrence of L.intracellularis and age of wild boar was demonstrated. Because wild boar and fallow deer are bred together in one game reserve, thepossibility of inter-species transfer of L. intracellularis should be borne in mind.

Nálezy Lawsonia intracellularis v chodu divokých prasat a daňků v jendé oplocené oboře v České republice

Czech description

Prevalence Lawsonia intracellularis v chovu divokých prasat (Sus scrofa) a daňků (Dama dama) v jedné oboře byla zjišťována použitím metody nested PCR. V této studii bylo vyšetřeno 88 klinicky zdravých divokých prasat různých věkových kategorií a dva daňci. L. intracellularis byla prokázána v mukózní membráně tenkého střeva u 8 (9.1%) divokých prasat a jednoho daňka. Z 9 divokých prasat, jejichž tkáně korespondovaly s mízními uzlinam, bylo jedno prase pozitivní na sledovaný mikroorganismus. Byl prokázánvztah mezi výskytem L.intracellularis a věkem divokého prasete. Protože divoká prasata a daňci byly chováni společně v jedné chovné oboře je pravděpodobné, že zde mohlo dojít k mezidruhovému přenosu L. intracellularis.
