Original language description

Cytogenetics of wild and captive bred non-domestic animals, provides us with information important for wildlife management and conservation of animals. In this review, we summarized the data published so far about chromosomal abnormalities in captive bred non-domestic animals, and their effect on phenotype. The second part gives an overview of the current knowledge of polymorphism in chromosome number, resulting from centric fusion/fission of chromosomes which was described, above all, in Bovidae and Equidae.

Czech description

Cytogenetika divokých a v zajetí chovaných divokých zvířat nám poskytuje informace důležité pro management chovu divokých zvířat a jejich ochranu. Jsou zde shrnuty dosud publikované údaje o chromosomálních abnormalitách a jejich vlivu na fenotyp. Druhá část přináší přehled o znalostech polymorfizmu počtu chromosomů jako důsledku cenrických fúzí/rozdělení chromosomů, které bylo popsáno u Bovidae a Equidae.
