The effect of diosmectite supplementation on immune response in weaned piglets
Original language description
The effect of diosmectite on the course of post-weaning diarrhoeal infection and immune response in weaned piglets was evaluated. Pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-? and anti-inflammatory TGF-ß1 concentration in small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum) andblood serum was measured. Dietary use of diosmectite was not effective in alleviation or shortening of diarrhoea in weaned piglets. However, diosmectite had a positive effect on the intensity of intestinal inflammation. The influence of diosmectite on the inflammatory response (production of TNF-? and TGF-ß1) was recorded.
