Original language description
Viral RNA was quantified by one step RT-qPCR in seventy seven serum samples of animals infected with BVDV. To monitor efficiency of RNA isolation and RT-qPCR low concentration of reference virus was artificially added to the samples. BVDV RNA copy number from 2.2×106 to7.4×108 per millilitre were detected in serum samples of persistently infected animals and 6.6×104; 1.8×107 and 3.3×107 in three transiently infected animals.
