The analysis of koi herpesvirus disease outbreak in Kojetin in Czech Republic
Original language description
Koi herpesvirus disease (KHVD) is a highly infectious disease of common carp and koi carp, caused by Cyvirus cyprinidallo 3 (Koi Herpesvirus, KHV) family Alloherpesviridae. This work presents monitoring of the persistence of KHV in a single common carp aquaculture pond (7,5ha) in the Olomouc region after the confirmed occurrence of the KHVD with moderate losses in summer 2023. In order to investigate the long-term presence of KHV the additional samplings were performed in October 2023, November 2023 and April 2024 and the samples were analysed using molecular and serological methods.
