Using the methodology of OECD for the definition of rural areas, there is 75,1 % of the land rural areas in the Czech Republic, in which are the 79,3 % of communities and 22,6 % of inhabitants. This situation has its advantages and disadvantages. The most serious disadvantage is an information barrier especially by decision-making on the municipal Civil Service level. In this situation it is necessary to prepare information systems, which, using the principles of knowledge systems, will support, decision making on the level of rural communities. Therefore the authors of this paper have created the information strategy for this segment of decision-making within a research project. The information system based on the technology of Internet will support decision-making in the most frequent situations. These situations are analysed in the paper.

S využití metodologie OECD pro definici venkovských oblastí je v ČR 75,1 % těchto oblastí a žije v nich 22,6 % obyvatel. Tato situace má své výhody i nevýhody. Největší nevýhodou jsou informační bariéry speciálně v oblasti rozhodování na úrovni regionálních správ. V této situaci je žádoucí vytvořit informační systém, který s využitím principů používaných ve znalostních systémech bude podporovat řešení rozhodovacích situací na úrovni venkovských regionů. Z těchto důvodů autoři vypracovali informační strategii v rámci řešení výzkumného projektu MMR. Informační systém je založen na aplikaci technologie internetu k podpoře řešení rozhodovacích situací, které jsou v příspěvku analyzovány.
