The system of LFA support is evaluated, the history of its establishment is described as well as the specifics of the individual EU countries concerning delimitation of the areas and support providing is evaluated. There is the description of the methodsof delimitation of LFA in Poland. Individual methods of calculation of the compensatory payments are assessed. The impact of LFA payments on economics situation of farms is evaluated.
