Cooperative and corporate farms have retained an important role for agricultural production in several of the New EU Member States including the Czech Republic. Transformation policies have provided a wide scope for ownership and organizational adjustments that have resulted in a unique diversity of corporate farms? ownership structures and governance constellations. Despite the corporate farms? importance in agricultural production, their ownership structure and particularly its effect on the farms? investment activity, which is vital for efficient restructuring and the sector's future development, have received insufficient attention from the academic community.
