The study deals with the relationship between commercial and non-commercial sphere of film distribution and exhibition in interwar Czechoslovakia. The example of a small cinema with a small market and a small number of actors within the film industry shows that the commercial and non-commercial, cinema and non-cinema spheres, often seen as differentiated and separate, worked together in a several types of hybrid relations.
