  • Original language description

Digitization have become fundamental means of transformation of memory institutions. It also brought many issues calling for critical analysis, i.e. questions of democracy and equal rights to social representation, how the architecture of corporate digital infrastructures limits the discourse and our ability to represent non-majority societies. Moreover, there are unresolved concerns about environmental and climate issues affecting the sustainability of digital transformation. The humanities and digital curation of media art are in the process of embracing new approaches. In the 20th century, a number of art movements addressed the difficulties of profound division of the social from the technological. Movements of systems art and media art contributed to interdisciplinary dialogues between science, technology, and society, and artistic research, in general, underlies inventive data practices and how it can question the default lines of inquiry that are built into data infrastructures, including reassembling them in accordance with public interests.
