Original language description
Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is an immune-mediated diseasetriggered by organic and nonorganic materials (inducers) in susceptibleindividuals. These inducers include several microbial and fungalantigens. In a 2020 clinical practice guideline, we provided a tablethat lists inducers that cause HP or are associated with HP.We thank Dutkiewicz and Mackiewicz for their interest in theguideline, and we are grateful that they brought attention to someerrors in the table regarding the taxonomy and names of microbes thatinduceHP,aswellastotheabsenceofseveralmicrobialagents, includingCryptostroma corticaleandEnterobacter agglomerans.Itisimportant to note that, although extensive, the table was never intendedto be complete, as new inducers are continually being discovered.
