Bone Marrow Transplantation for Inherited Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes

  • Original language description

The inherited bone marrow failure syndromes (BMF) are characterized by impaired hematopoiesis and cancer predisposition. Bone marrow transplantation (HSCT) is the only curative option for these rare patients being associated with increased risk of complications due to disease specific characteristics. Introduction of new drugs, e.g. fludarabine, into the preparative regimen improved the results of HSCT remarkably.
