Original language description
Surgical management of patients with complete atrioventricular septal defect (ASVD) has advanced over the last decades. Definitive early repair has became the treatment of choice at many centres. Authors reviewed long-term result of 100 consecutive patients with complete ASVD undergioing definitily early repair with a two-patch technique. Valve performance, mortality, morbidity and indications for reoperations were retrospectively studied. Early repair can be performed with excellent results.
