Proteomic analysis of plasma samples from acute coronary syndrome patients - The pilot study
Original language description
The aim of this study was to demonstrate the initial results of the plasma proteomic analysis of two cohorts of patients: A) 23 patients (controls) with normal coronary angiogram investigated due to non-coronary reasons (valvular heart disease, pulmonaryhypertension, cardiomyopathy) and B) 22 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) treated with primary percutaneous intervention (PCI) (18 patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction, three patients with non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and one with unstable angina). All of the patients in the subgroup B were treated with unfractionated heparin, 500 mg of aspirin and a loading dose of 600 mg of clopidogrel.
