Sabuncu et al. published a study dealing with the relationship hypertension and diabetes focusing on the demographical and clinical characteristics of patients with hypertension in a population with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Turkey. The authors concluded that 67.5% of adult patients with T2DM had hypertension, only about half of the patients reached the blood pressure (BP) target values and prevalence of masked hypertension was 41.2%.
