Original language description
The restoration of the Villa Müller was preceded by expert investigations that revealed many new, unknown facts about the actual work done by Adolf Loos. The criteria invoked were characteristic for method of architectural restoration – not reconstruction. Essentially, the difference lies in the protecton and careful treatment not only of the unique collections of furniture and handcrafts, but equally the construcion products and materials that are other cases regarded as commonplace and thus replaceable with the same materiál type. The conception of the interior instalations precisely copies the state after completion of construction in 1930. In May 2000 the restored and reconstructed Villa Müller was opened to the public.
