Classification and phylogeny of the Buprestoidea (Insecta: Coleoptera).

Original language description

Taxonomy and morphology of the superfamily Buprestoidea are studied. Buprestoidea is divided into two families Buprestidae and Schizopodidae. Buprestidae subfamilies are reviewed and rearranged. Following subfamilies are classified within Buprestidae: Polycestinae, Buprestinae, Julodinae, Sphenopterinae, Galbellinae, Agrilinae. Hypotheses on phylogeny of Buprestoidea are presented.
