Original language description
Promanodes serafini, the new fossil genus and species of the bark-gnawing beetle (Trogossitidae) is described from Baltic amber. The new genus and new species is surprisingly closely related to New Zealand recent genus Promanus. A species review of the latter genus, with illustrations and differential diagnoses, is given.
