Original language description
A new species, Marasmius desjardinii belonging to Marasmius sect. Globulares is described from India. Its most distinct characters include: a distinctive odour of red chilli powder and the presence of pleurocystidia and pseudocystidia. Its detailed description, including drawings of microscopic features and a phylogenetic tree, is given. The differences from similar taxa are discussed
