Článek shrnuje problematiku farmakologické terapie u pacientů s diabetes mellitus 2. typu. Jsou uvedeny kategorizace kardiovaskulárního rizika s doporučenými hladinami LDL cholesterolu, který je primárním cílem terapie. V léčbě dyslipidemie se u diabetiků uplatňují především statiny, ale své místo mají také fibráty, ezetimib a PCSK9 inhibitory.
