Original language description
The high-montane species, Crumomyia glacialis (Meigen, 1830), has been discovered in the Alabastrová jaskyňa (cave) in the Belianske Tatry Mts. (Carpathians; first record from Slovakia). The female sex of this very rare species is described. The description of the male is supplemented, with notes on the variability of some features. The community of Sphaeroceridae in the Alabastrová jaskyňa (cave) is described and the local population of C. glacialis is classified as troglophilous.
