Original language description

Anthomyzidae from Japan are revised and keyed and information on adjacent fauna is provided. Nine species are recognized: 5 new species are described and 4 species are new to Japan. The genus Ischnomyia is new to the Old World. Female of Anthomyza bellatrix Roháček, 1984 is described for the first time.
