Revision of the New World species of Stiphrosoma Czerny (Diptera: Anthomyzidae)

Original language description

The species of the genus Stiphrosoma Czerny, 1928 found in the New World are revised. Fourteen species are recognized, including the type species of the genus, S. sabulosum (Haliday, 1837), and 13 new species, viz. S. pectinatum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. lucipetum sp.n. (Bahamas; Belize; Costa Rica; Cuba; USAa), S. pullum sp.n. (Costa Rica), S. setipleurum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. balteatum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. hirtum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. artum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. helvum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. stylatum sp.n. (Canada; USA), S. minor sp.n. (USA), S. vittatum sp.n. (USA), S. sororium sp.n. (Mexico) and S. humerale sp.n. (Canada; USA; in the Palaearctic - Latvia; North Korea; Russia: Siberia). Descriptions of all species are given along with illustrations of male and female terminalia and other diagnostic structures, and their relationships, biology and distribution are discussed. A key to world species of Stiphrosoma and a new generic diagnosis are presented.

Czech description

Byly revidovány druhy rodu Stiphrosoma Czerny, 1928 zjištěné v Novém světě. V oblasti bzlo rozlišeno 14 druhů, typový druh S. sabulosum (Haliday, 1837) a 13 nových druhů, viz S. pectinatum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. lucipetum sp.n. (Bahamy; Belize; Kostarica; Kuba; USA), S. pullum sp.n. (Kostarica), S. setipleurum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. balteatum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. hirtum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. artum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. helvum sp.n. (Kanada; USA), S. stylatum sp.n. (Kanad; USA), S. minor sp.n. (USA), S. vittatum sp.n. (USA), S. sororium sp.n. (Mexiko) a S. humerale sp.n. (Kanada; USA; v Palearktické oblasti - Lotyšsko; Severní Korea; Rusko). Všechny druhy jsou popsány a diskutovány jejich příbuzenské vztahy, bionomie a rozšíření. Byl připravencelosvětový klíč k určení druhů rodu Stiphrosoma a nová diagnóza rodu.
