The type of the rupture and the size of the hematoma that is in correlation with the time of diagnosis and operation are among the most clecisive prognostic factors in patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). This has been confirmed by theresults of a retrospective study of 96 patients with ruptured AAA operated on in the 2nd Department of Surgery in Brno between 1989-1999
