EYRINA: A device for automatic capture of extended retinal images

  • Original language description

A new fully automatic fundus camera has been designed and constructed to monitor the human retina. Equipped with an additional illumination system, the camera captures frontal images of the optic disc and fovea. The device is also capable of tilting the optical system in various directions, enabling it to capture multiple images of different regions of the retina. After stitching these images together, the resulting image covers a significantly larger area compared to traditional frontal imaging. This device is suitable for both medical and biometric applications. © 2025 The Authors
