Triaxial magnetic compensation system for well-defined metrological calibrations of magnetometers
Original language description
A triaxial system for calibrations in the Earth's field range is presented with subsequent calibration with a National standard of magnetic flux density, ensuring traceability. The system, intended for industrial calibrations of magnetometers, comprisesof two triaxial coil systems, where one serves for Earth's field compensation and the other for calibration. The field-canceling system relies on a remote fluxgate magnetometer and works in an open-loop. Off-the-shelf 1-m Helmholtz coils are used for thecalibration purposes, on-site 2.5-m Braunbek coils were used for field compensation. Single winding is used on all coils to save cost and lower system complexity; however this brings high demands on stability of the current sources and compensating electronics.
