Triple Point of Carbon Dioxide
Original language description
In this paper is the triple point cell of carbon dioxide design and their assembly presented. Many calibration laboratories require references below ?38 °C, but not necessarily down to the argon point temperature. A fixed points, whose temperature is between the argon and mercury triple point can be answer to this issue. That is why the realization of a carbon dioxide triple point (T90 = 216,592 K) are presented. Triple point conditions are maintained inside the cell at the vapour-liquid-solid interface, which occurs only at the upper surface of the carbon dioxide. Since there is a hydrostatic head pressure imposed by the column of liquid carbon dioxide at the depth of immersion of this cells, a correction must be applied to the theoretical triple point temperature to account for the static head pressure present at the sensing point. For all practical purposes, the liquid surface of the carbon dioxide is 15 cm above the bottom of the thermometer well resulting in an increase of differe
