The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) simulator is presented in this document. The aim of the simulator is to calculate the uncertainty of a PMU by means of the Monte Carlo method [1]. A whole measurement chain is modeled in the simulator, including a transducer, a digitizer and a synchrophasor estimating algorithm. The simulator was written in GNU Octave [2] and optimized for run on CMI su- percomputer čokl with GNU Linux operating system. For now the simulator cannot be run outside CMI supercomputer environment. Till the end of the project a less efficient version of the software will be released with ability to run in every GNU Octave envi- ronment. To simulate a PMU several parts are required: the generator of simulated data, the mea- surement device simulator and the synchrophasor estimating algorithm.
