Novel cholinesterase modulators and their ability to interact with DNA
Original language description
In the present work, an interaction of four cholinesterase modulators (1-4) with calf thymus DNA was studied via spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis, fluorescent spectroscopy and circular dichroism). From UV-Vis spectroscopic analysis, the binding constantsfor DNA-pyridinium oximes complexes were calculated (K = 3.5 104 to 1.4 105 M1). All these measurements indicated that the compounds behave as effective DNA-interacting agents. Electrophoretic techniques proved that ligand 2 inhibited topoisomerase I ata concentration 5 lM.
