Cladophialophora bantiana is a rare fungal infection in liver transplant recipients

  • Original language description

A total of 459 transplants were carried out at the transplant centre Brno between 2 February 1983 and 31 March 2013. The authors found only one case of Cladophialophora bantiana in these patients. The authors describe a liver transplant recipient who was unsuccessfully treated for Cladophialophora bantiana in brain and lungs abscesses. Despite the application of the full spectrum of antimycotic therapy and surgical procedures, the infection continued to progress, resulting in the death of the patient.
