Original language description

During 1994-1998, 1.190 cases of breast cancer were diagnosed at the MMCI. In this cohort, 18 cases were diagnosed as fibroadenomas during the first examination, which included clinical examination, mammography, ultrasonography, color Doppler ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration. In the course of follow up checkings we rediagnosed 5 cases as breast cancer by repeating identical diagnostic procedures. Another 13 cases were rediagnosed after surgical exstirpation of the lesion and complete histological examination.
